Privacy Policy
Bluesource (that's us) takes your privacy seriously. We build design systems, component libraries, and workflow tools through our platform and integrated services (the "Services"). We also run bluesource.space (the "Website") where you can learn about what we do and how we work. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, store, use and share information about our users across the Website, Services and related platforms (all together, the "Services"). Our Terms of Service govern how you use the Services—everyone should read them. You can find the Bluesource Terms of Service at bluesource.space.
CONSENT
Using the Services means you're okay with us collecting, using and sharing your Personal Information as laid out in this Privacy Policy. You always get to choose whether or not to give us Personal Information. We collect two kinds of information through the Services: Personal Information and Non-Personal Information. This Privacy Policy doesn't cover information that privacy laws don't currently limit, which includes (a) publicly available info like names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses listed in directories or through directory assistance, or (b) Non-Personal Information (defined below). "Personal Information" means stuff that identifies you personally—your name, email address, that kind of thing. We keep this so we can provide the Services and stay in touch with you. "Non-Personal Information" is anonymous data, like your Internet Protocol Address (IP Address) and whatever our web servers automatically collect through your browser or cookies when you visit. We also gather aggregate data like how many people visit and where they're from. This Privacy Policy focuses on Personal Information, but we're laying out how we use Non-Personal Information too so you know what's happening behind the scenes.
TYPES OF INFORMATION COLLECTED
Registration & Accounts: You need to create an account and pick a username to use the Services. Your username shows up to other users—anyone accessing the Services can see community content. The chat, feedback, and forums let you talk with other members. When you post something publicly, anyone can grab that information and use it. Don't share Personal Information, and sharing other people's information violates the Terms of Service. IP Addresses. Your web browser tells us your IP address when you visit the Website. We record this with your account info in our databases. Here's what we do with it: Solve problems and issues users report that relate to specific IP addresses. See how many people visit from different places and use the Services. Track down the source of malicious or illegal activity (like multiple fake accounts) so we can shut it down faster. Bluesource Applications on Integrated Platforms: To use the Services on third-party sites like Figma, you might need to (1) have an account on that platform and (2) install a Bluesource app on it. If that's required, you usually have to agree to the partner site's Terms of Service. Device IDs: When you download or install our tools, we get a unique device identifier. We use this to sync your account across your device. This identifier doesn't include your name, address or any personal details tied to that device. Support: If you email us or contact us any other way, we keep those messages to handle your requests and make our Services better. User Feedback: We collect feedback and suggestions from people using the Services. You're responsible for reading and following third-party platform policies. Use: We use your Personal Information to give you access to the Services, provide them to you, settle disputes, fix problems, analyze how people use our Services, improve what we offer, catch fraud and illegal activity, send you system messages, and anything else we tell you about when we collect it. This makes the Services safer, smoother and more tailored to what you need.
DISCLOSURES & TRANSFERS
We have organizational safeguards in place to protect your Personal Information. We won't disclose, transfer, or sell your Personal Information to third parties without permission, except where this Privacy Policy says we will (see Important Exceptions below).
IMPORTANT EXCEPTIONS
We can disclose your Personal Information to third parties without asking you first if we think it's necessary to identify, contact or take legal action against someone who might be hurting us, our rights, other Website members, other users, or anyone else that could be harmed. We'll disclose it when the law requires us to. Nothing in this Privacy Policy limits any legal defenses or objections you might have to someone else (including the government) asking us to share your information. We may also share your Personal Information if there's a corporate restructuring, merger, sale of most of our assets or stock, or due diligence related to any of that. The company that gets your info has to keep using it the same way this Privacy Policy allows. We work with subsidiaries, affiliates and third-party service providers (together, "Third Parties") to run the Services and host data off-site. We share your Personal Information with them as needed. We pick Third Parties we trust to handle the job, including keeping confidential and Personal Information secure and following all applicable laws.
THIRD PARTY SITES & ADVERTISERS
Our Services use third-party tracking and analytics tools from service providers—things like analytics platforms, Figma integration, and vendor tools. These third parties use cookies, APIs, and SDKs to collect and analyze user and device data on our behalf. They might see your device identifier, browser details, locale, location, IP address, how you use the app, when you access it, your design activity, usage patterns, and what content you interact with. They use this to provide their services like analytics. When you use the Services, you'll run into third-party vendors and websites. We don't share Personal Information with them and we don't control their privacy policies. Whatever information you give them or how they use cookies is governed by their privacy policy, not ours. If you're wondering about giving Personal Information to another website, contact them directly and read their Privacy Policy. Ads on the Bluesource website and in the Services come from us or third-party advertisers. When you click an ad, you might go somewhere we don't monitor or control. Third-party ad servers may set cookies so they recognize your computer when they show you ads. They compile data about whether you saw their ads and which ones you clicked. This Privacy Policy doesn't cover their cookies—check their privacy policy instead.
SECURITY
We care about keeping your Personal Information safe. We use technical, contractual, administrative and physical security measures to protect what you give us. We limit who can access your Personal Information to only staff who need it. That said, the internet isn't totally secure. We do our best to protect your data, but we can't guarantee it won't be intercepted. Any transmission of Personal Information is on you. We're not responsible if someone gets around our privacy settings or security measures. You also need to help protect your own information. Never share passwords, your real name or address. Don't use your real name as your username. Log out and close your browser when you're done with the Website or Services.
RETENTION
We keep Personal Information only as long as we need it or the law says we have to, which might be past when we stop working together. We may hang onto data to prevent fraud, stop future abuse, or for legitimate reasons like analyzing aggregated non-personal data, account recovery, or legal compliance. Any Personal Information we keep stays covered by this Privacy Policy.
ACCESSING AND DELETING PERSONAL INFORMATION
Right to erasure (right to be forgotten) – You can review, update, correct or delete any Personal Information in your account and request account closure. To ask for access to, review, verify, correct or delete your Personal Information, submit a support ticket or email our team at info@bluesource.space. We might not make changes if we think it would break a law or make the info wrong. We may ask for specific details to confirm who you are and that you have the right to access the info. The law might let us refuse to give you some or all of your Personal Information, or we might have already destroyed it or made it anonymous under our record-keeping rules. If we can't provide access, we'll tell you why, subject to legal limits. We'll give you access to your Personal Information except where privacy laws carve out exceptions, like: Information protected by lawyer-client privilege. Information that's part of an active dispute. Information about another person that would reveal their Personal Information or confidential business details. Information that would cost too much to provide. For deletion requests, we'll take reasonable steps to remove your personal information from our records, but we keep some data for legal and accounting reasons, especially around payments and customer service. We may also keep information to exercise or defend our rights. Even after deletion, we can still use anonymized, Non-Personal Information about what you do on our Services. Questions about how to use your rights? Contact us at info@bluesource.space anytime.
Withdrawing Your Consent
If you gave us permission to collect, use, transfer or sell your Personal Information, you might have the legal right to take that back in some situations or to object to how we process, transfer or sell it. To withdraw consent, contact info@bluesource.space. Keep in mind that if you pull back permission, we might not be able to give you certain products or services. We'll explain what that means for you.
TRANSFERRING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may process, store and transfer your Personal Information to other countries with different privacy laws that might not be as strong as Canada's. In those places, governments, courts, law enforcement or regulators might be able to access your data. When we hire service providers, including cloud companies, we make sure their privacy and security standards match this Privacy Policy and Canadian privacy law. Want more details about our policies on service providers outside Canada? Reach out. By giving us your Personal Information or using the Site, you're okay with this transfer, storage or processing.
OUR POLICY REGARDING CHILDREN
If you're under 13, you need a parent's permission before using the Services. Bluesource won't knowingly contact or work with kids under 13 without parental consent. We encourage parents and guardians to watch how their kids use the Services. Think a child gave us their Personal Information or worried about how we're handling it? Contact info@bluesource.space and we'll try to delete it and address your concerns.
AMENDMENT OF THIS POLICY
We can change this Privacy Policy anytime. If we do, we'll post a notice on the home page at bluesource.space. Small changes like clarifications take effect when posted. Big changes take effect 30 days after posting. Unless we say otherwise, our current Privacy Policy applies to all Personal Information. The update date is at the bottom of this document. Keep using the Services and you're accepting any changes.
